The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued a request for mosque-goers attending prayers at the Islamic Center to use the south and east entrances instead of the north entrance.

The statement, released today, outlines the adjustment in entry points due to the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Vice-President-elect Hussain Mohamed Latheef at Republic Square on Friday.

The Ministry’s announcement highlights that roads in the vicinity will be closed during the Asr and Maghrib prayers on the day of the ceremony.

In light of this, mosque-goers are advised to use the southern side, adjacent to the former Dhiraagu head office, or the eastern side, near the Sultan Park.

Scheduled for 4:45 pm next Friday, the swearing-in ceremony is expected to draw the participation of new and current government officials, as well as diplomats from various countries in the Maldives and a number of invited foreign dignitaries.
