Chinese Ambassador Pledges Support for Maldives During Presidential Meeting

Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Wang Lixin, has pledged China’s support for the Maldives’ most urgent needs during a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

The meeting saw President Dr Muizzu and Ambassador Wang addressing issues highlighted during the President’s state visit to China earlier this year. They discussed avenues to expedite the implementation of agreed projects, according to a statement from the President’s Office.

Ambassador Wang assured Muizzu of the Chinese government’s readiness to assist with the Maldives’ pressing needs, emphasising the close ties between the two countries.

Discussions also covered potential future collaborations to promote Maldivian tourism, with both leaders expressing a commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.
