Completion of Several Projects Inaugurated in Baa Atoll

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the completion of several projects in B. Dharavandhoo, B. Kudarikilu, and B. Kendhoo.
Projects in Dharavandhoo and Kudarikilu
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attended ceremonies on Dharavandhoo and Kudarikilu Islands in Baa Atoll today to inaugurate newly completed infrastructure projects.
These projects, developed under his administration to improve the quality of life for residents on these islands, include coastal protection on both islands, an upgraded harbour, and a new volleyball court on Kudarikilu Island.
The new infrastructure on Dharavandhoo and Kudarikilu Islands was officially inaugurated as part of President Solih’s ongoing tour. The coastal protection project on Dharavandhoo Island was completed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). As part of the project, a 144-metre revetment was installed, and beach nourishment works were carried out to counteract erosion.
MT Højgaard Pvt. Ltd. completed the coastal protection project and harbour upgrade on Kudarikilu Island. The project involved dredging the harbour and its channel’s basin, constructing a ramp, installing port lights, and constructing 1,630 square metres of pavement.
An 819-metre revetment was also developed as part of the coastal protection project. These improvements will enhance the safety and functionality of the harbour for the benefit of the local community.
Projects in Kendhoo
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially inaugurated several newly completed infrastructure projects on Kendhoo Island in Baa Atoll yesterday.
These include the island’s coastal protection, football ground, and volleyball court. The President inaugurated these facilities during his ongoing visit to the islands of Baa Atoll.
The coastal protection project was completed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The project features a 210-metre revetment, a 754-metre sea wall, and an 800-square-metre swimming area.
The newly inaugurated football ground on Kendhoo Island, layered with turf, features state-of-the-art amenities and facilities. The administration contracted its development to Myna Sports Field Pvt. Ltd. President Solih inaugurated the modern volleyball court on the island, developed by Maldives Assure Supply. These developments represent significant investments in the well-being and development of the local community.
