Completion of Several Projects Inaugurated in Raa Atoll

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the completion of several projects in R. Kinolhas, R. Fainu, R. Meedhoo, R. Maduvvari, R. Dhuvaafaru, R. Inguraidhoo R. Innamaadhoo and R. Rasmaadhoo.
Projects in Kinolhas
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated a series of newly completed infrastructure projects on Kinolhas Island in Raa Atoll on Wednesday. These projects, which were inaugurated during the President’s ongoing visit to the islands of Raa Atoll, include an upgraded harbour, a newly built powerhouse, the FENAKA office, and the water and sewerage network project commissioning.
The administration contracted the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to upgrade the island’s harbour. The project included a range of improvements, such as deepening the harbour basin, installing a 162-metre groyne, constructing a 285-metre seawall, installing a 65-metre revetment, building a 186-metre quay wall, and undertaking other relevant harbour improvement efforts. These enhancements have improved the safety and functionality of the harbour, which was opened today for the benefit of the local community.
The Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) was contracted to construct the island’s water supply and sewerage network. The newly built powerhouse on Kinolhas Island represents a significant upgrade to the existing infrastructure. Its strategic location away from the residential area minimises disruption to the island’s inhabitants. The state-of-the-art facility has a power generation capacity of 688 kilowatts.
The President also inaugurated the FENAKA office on the island, further enhancing the local infrastructure. The newly inaugurated infrastructure represents a significant investment in the development and well-being of the local community. These improvements will improve the quality of life for residents and support the island’s continued growth.
Projects in Fainu and Meedhoo
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visited Fainu and Meedhoo Islands in Raa Atoll on Wednesday to inaugurate newly completed infrastructure. These projects include a new powerhouse and FENAKA office on Fainu Island and a new football ground on Meedhoo Island. These improvements represent significant investments in the development and well-being of the local communities and will enhance the quality of life for residents of these islands.
The newly opened powerhouse on Fainu Island, with its power generation capacity of 520 kilowatts, will provide a reliable energy source for the local community and help solve numerous issues the community faces. This will improve residents’ quality of life and support the islands’ continued development. President Solih also opened the FENAKA office, a spacious and modern facility accommodating up to 15 employees.
On Meedhoo Island, President Solih inaugurated the new football ground. The ground has been developed to modern standards and features a turf field. The sub-base work for the football ground was completed by the Road Development Corporation (RDC), while Myna Sports Field Pvt. Ltd. did the turf layering. These improvements will provide a high-quality playing surface for local athletes and support the development of football on the island.
Projects in Maduvvari and Dhuvaafaru

The new infrastructure on Maduvvari and Dhuvaafaru Islands was officially inaugurated as part of President Solih’s ongoing tour. The harbour upgrading project on Maduvvari Island was completed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The project included dredging the harbour basin and channel, developing a 582-metre quay wall, and installing a 135-metre revetment.
On Dhuvaafaru Island, President Solih marked the completion of the land reclamation project. The project contracted to MTCC saw the addition of 22.2 hectares of land and the development of a protective revetment. The President also marked the completion of the road construction project on Dhuvaafaru Island, which involved the construction of 5.7 kilometres of road by MTCC.
President Solih inaugurated the new football ground on Dhuvaafaru Island. The subbase of the new football ground was carried out by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). At the same time, the turf installation was completed by V.A.M. Company Pvt. Ltd. and the light installation by CoreLine Maldives Pvt. Ltd. These improvements will provide a high-quality playing surface for local athletes and support the development of football on the island.
Projects in Inguraidhoo and Innamaadhoo

Ltd. constructed the water supply and sewerage network on Inguraidhoo Island, while the project to develop the water supply network on Innamaadhoo Island was contracted to the Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). These efforts are part of President Solih’s administration’s initiative to develop water and sewerage networks on all inhabited islands, significantly improving the quality of life for the local communities.
Projects in Rasmaadhoo

These projects, inaugurated during the President’s ongoing tour of the atoll, include an upgraded harbour, coastal protection, a new powerhouse, and a FENAKA office.
The harbour upgrade and coastal protection projects on Rasmaadhoo Island were completed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). As part of the harbour upgrade project, the harbour basin and channel were dredged, 36-metre groynes were installed, an 181-metre revetment was constructed, a 272-metre quay wall was developed, an 84-metre concrete jetty was constructed, and other port-related works were carried out.
The coastal protection project on Rasmaadhoo Island included the installation of 195 metres of T-groynes and an 186-metre sea wall. These improvements will enhance the safety and functionality of the harbour for the benefit of the local community, improving the quality of life for residents and supporting the island’s continued growth.
President Solih also inaugurated the newly built powerhouse and FENAKA office on Rasmaadhoo Island. The new powerhouse represents a significant upgrade to the existing infrastructure, and its strategic location away from the residential area minimises disruption to the island’s inhabitants.
