Customs Seizes Drug Shipment Worth Over MVR 6.7 Million

Maldives Customs has intercepted a drug shipment valued at over MVR 6.7 million.
The seizure took place during a special operation carried out at dawn on last Thursday, which targeted a sea shipment that had arrived the previous night.
The operation led to the confiscation of 3.534 kilos of drugs, which tested positive for three distinct substances: methamphetamine, ketamine, and heroin. The quantities seized were as follows: 2,138 grams of methamphetamine, 1,086 grams of ketamine, and 310 grams of heroin.
The estimated street value of the drugs is above MVR 6.7 million. Following the operation, the seized drugs have been handed over to the police for further criminal investigation.
