Development Projects Inaugurated in Thiladhunmathi Atolls

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the completion of several developmental projects yesterday in Haa Alif and Haa Dhaalu atolls, which included HDh. Hanimaadhoo, HA. Utheemu, HA. Muraidhoo, HA. Filladhoo, and HA. Baarah. 

Completion of infrastructure projects on HDh. Hanimaadhoo

The President inaugurated several major infrastructure development projects on Hanimaadhoo. These projects, which include an upgraded harbour, a new football stadium, road development, shore protection, and a skate park were completed as part of the administration’s efforts to achieve equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives.

The newly opened football stadium was constructed to modern standards and features a turf field. The President also opened the newly developed skate park on the island. The upgraded harbour, contracted to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), was also inaugurated by President Solih. In addition, MTCC completed 7.4 kilometres of roads and the island’s shore protection project.

Completion of infrastructure development projects on HA. Utheemu

President Solih inaugurated the newly completed extension of the island’s healthcare centre and a four-classroom building for Ghaazee Bandaarain School in Utheemu. 

The healthcare centre extension building includes a public health unit that provides preventative and promotional health services, an administrative area for managing healthcare employees, a counselling room, and a laundry. The project was contracted to Perfect Malafehi Maldives Pvt. Ltd. The four-classroom building for Ghaazee Bandaarain School was contracted to Badhahi Investment Pvt. Ltd.

Completion of multiple developmental projects on HA. Muraidhoo

The President inaugurated a new powerhouse, FENAKA Office, water supply network, and football ground on Muraidhoo.

The newly inaugurated powerhouse and FENAKA Office on Muraidhoo Island boast modern facilities and can accommodate up to 30 staff members. Strategically located away from residential areas, the facility has the capacity to generate 620 Kilowatts of power.

The contract for the construction of the water supply network was awarded to Malé Water and Sewerage Company Pvt. Ltd. (MWSC). Upon completion of the project, 129 households had been successfully connected to the network.

The football ground is a modern facility equipped with contemporary amenities and layered with turf. It was developed to promote youth and sports and encourage healthy lifestyles. The administration is committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and prioritises the development of sports infrastructure.

Developmental projects on Haa Alifu Atoll’s Filladhoo and Baarah

The President also officially inaugurated the completion of several developmental projects in these islands, including a water supply and sewerage network and the health centre extension on Filladhoo Island, and a new futsal ground on Baarah Island. 

The water supply and sewerage network project on Filladhoo Island was contracted to SAS E. Construction Pvt. Ltd., while the health centre extension building, inaugurated today, was contracted to Perfect Malafehi Maldives Pvt. Ltd. The extension building features an administrative area for managing healthcare employees, a public health unit providing preventative and promotional health services, a garage, and a laundry.
