Dhiraagu has signed a partnership agreement with Villa College for ‘VIgnite’ – the first of its kind business incubator programme for students in the Maldives.
Launched under Villa College’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED), the business incubator programme is an initiative which aims to support early-stage startups and entrepreneurs. The programme will provide them with hands-on mentorship, business development support, and access to critical resources, helping to develop innovative business ideas and create a lasting impact both locally and globally.
Under Dhiraagu’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the company will be providing seamless, high-speed digital connectivity to the incubator, as well as financial contribution to support its key activities. Additionally, Dhiraagu’s skilled professionals will serve as mentors and advisors in the programme and on its advisory board.
“We are happy to join hands with Villa College’s ‘VIgnite’ incubator programme to empower the next generation of innovators who will contribute to shaping the future of the Maldives. This partnership reflects Dhiraagu’s continued focus and commitment to nurturing local talent, advancing entrepreneurship, and promoting sustainable development,” stated Ismail Rasheed, CEO & MD of Dhiraagu.
“Our business incubator programme is a monumental step in developing a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Maldives. We extend our appreciation to Dhiraagu for their support, which will play a crucial role in bringing this vision to life,” stated Dr. Ahmed Anwar, Rector of Villa College.
While the programme will initially target Villa College students and staff, it will later expand to include local schools, colleges, and communities, driving innovation and economic growth across the nation. Villa College’s VIgnite Incubator programme is further supported by industry partners, including Fenaka Corporation Limited, Women in Tech Maldives, Sparkhub, Business Centre Corporation (BCC), OXIQA Pvt Ltd, Kandufa Foundation, and Villa Shipping & Trading Company Pvt. Ltd.
