The newly established Bridging Excellence School Students Tivet Program will open avenues for Grade 9 and 10 students to engage in National Level Certificate 3 and 4 courses. The initiative aims to equip students with valuable skills, fostering a pathway towards higher education in various fields.
Minister Ibrahim Hassan highlighted the significance of this agreement, emphasising its role in nurturing professionals essential for diverse industrial activities in Maldives. These centres are poised to deliver quality vocational education and skills to the youth across provinces.
Expressing the government’s commitment to prioritising vocational and skills education, Minister Aishath Ali stated that these institutes form a crucial part of efforts to expand such education and training opportunities to provinces.
Dr. Aishath Ali highlighted the anticipated benefits for students in schools and islands surrounding these centres, emphasising that the service would greatly facilitate the implementation of TIVET programs and the establishment of teaching facilities.
The centres are set to offer a variety of vocational courses, with the Higher Education Ministry preparing to launch ten courses for the January intake. Importantly, all courses provided by these institutes are offered free of charge.
As part of the program, students can participate in the “Transition 360” initiative, which includes a TIVET student incubation program along with a 30-hour professional development component integrated into the course modules.
Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to utilise the institutes’ workshops for one year post-graduation to further their studies.
