He highlighted the significance of consulting the public before implementing these substantial changes, warning against hastily made decisions that could exacerbate divisions within society.

“Instead of pursuing conflicting agendas, it is crucial to focus on achievable goals at present,” Fayyaz remarked.

Fayyaz also criticised the government’s handling of financial matters, suggesting that public perception of economic stability could be misleading. “Even if the government touts positive economic indicators, the lack of sincerity in proposed reforms risks undermining confidence among the public, investors, and financiers,” he expressed.

Fayyaz further called upon the government to provide clarity on funding allocations for businesses and students abroad, citing a lack of transparency in these areas. “Confidence can only be restored through clear promises and comprehensive explanations of the current situation,” he asserted.

He also questioned the government’s commitment to reducing political staff as promised, urging immediate disclosure on these matters.

The MDP, while open to constructive changes supported by the public, criticised what it perceives as stagnant economic policies detrimental to national progress. “The country cannot afford to remain complacent about its financial state,” Fayyaz concluded.
