The contract was signed by FDC Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel and Maldives Hajj Corporation Managing Director Mohamed Shakeel. According to the Hajj Corporation, the sale of apartments within the project will be open to the public. However, further details, such as the number of apartments and the contracting party responsible for the construction, have yet to be disclosed.

FDC has a history of similar partnerships, having previously signed agreements with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Maldive Gas to design various buildings. Following changes to its mandate on its five-year anniversary, FDC has undertaken several new projects aimed at boosting revenue.

Earlier this year, the Maldives Hajj Corporation acquired two plots of land in Hulhumalé. Construction began this month on a nine-floor office complex on one of the plots, which covers 5,000 square feet. MedTech Maldives Pvt Ltd was awarded the contract for the office project, valued at MVR 79.1 million, with completion expected within 18 months.
