First Flight of Haj Pilgrims for the Year 1444 Takes Off

The first flight carrying Haj pilgrims for the year 1444 took off from the Maldives today. A group of 294 pilgrims, representing the Maldives Haj Corporation Limited, boarded the flight at 15:10 PM today, according to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

The flight is destined for the King Abdul Aziz International Airport, with an estimated arrival time of 18:45 PM local time.

In order to facilitate the travel of all the pilgrims, a total of six flights have been scheduled on different dates. Subsequent departures are planned for June 13, 15, 16, and 19, ensuring that all the pilgrims reach their intended destination.

The departure schedule for the upcoming flights is as follows:

  • June 13, 2023: Sisilfar Hajj and Umra Group Private Limited – 12:50 PM IST
  • June 16, 2023: Maldives Hajj Corporation – 15:10 PM
  • June 16, 2023: Al-Haramain Hajj and Umrah Company Maldives Private Limited – 19:00 PM
  • June 19, 2023: Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited – 15:10 PM

In their statement, the Ministry said efforts have been made to ensure smooth transportation and logistics for the pilgrims. Government agencies are working in coordination to facilitate the pilgrims’ journey from their residences to the airport, including the collection of luggage.

Special arrangements have been made to accommodate senior citizens and patients, with small vehicles arranged for their transportation. Buses and AC ferries are available for other pilgrims and their family members. Luggage boxes will be transported to the airport a day prior to departure.

To streamline the travel process, special flights have been organized from Male’, Hulhumale’, and Villimale’. In addition, bus and ferry services have been scheduled to transport pilgrims to the designated departure points.

  • Bageechaa Hin’gun

Hulhumale’ Phase 2:

  • Hulhumale’ Phase 1 bus stop 1
  • Hulhumale’ Phase 1 bus stop 2

Villingili:

  • Villingili ferry terminal

Following the departure of the first group, the second batch of pilgrims is scheduled to depart at 12:50 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
