Foreign Minister Departs for Joint Arab-Islamic Summit in Saudi Arabia
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has departed for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit.
During his visit, the minister will also participate in additional meetings held alongside the summit, engaging in diplomatic discussions with regional leaders.
In a social media statement, Dr. Khaleel expressed his intent to hold discussions focused on addressing challenges facing the Islamic community, with particular emphasis on the situation in Palestine.
He highlighted the importance of prioritising the Palestinian issue, calling for enhanced global cooperation to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and urging accountability for actions against civilians.
Meanwhile, the Maldivian government maintains its stance of condemnation against Israel’s actions in Palestine, voicing its concerns on multiple international platforms.
