Foreign Vessel Detected in Maldivian Waters by MNDF Drone Surveillance
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has confirmed the detection of a foreign vessel trespassing in Maldivian waters.
The vessel was identified during a special operation conducted using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from the MNDF’s Air Corps.

The MNDF launched its Air Corps on 15 March 2024, equipped with advanced drones designed for surveillance and monitoring. These state-of-the-art UAVs can operate at speeds ranging from 70 to 120 knots, with a maximum endurance of 27 hours and a ceiling altitude of 25,000 feet.
