Four Maldivians Accused of Plotting Terrorism in Neighboring Country

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) conducted raids at three locations in connection with an alleged terrorist plot targeting a neighboring country.
Authorities have stated that four Maldivian individuals are believed to have conspired to carry out a terrorist attack within the Maldives as well as in a neighboring nation. It is alleged that they provided financial support to an overseas terrorist group and facilitated the execution of a terrorist act.
Acting on information and evidence provided by law enforcement agencies, searches were carried out at three locations today. Digital devices belonging to three individuals were confiscated for investigative purposes.
The police report to be diligently pursuing further inquiries into the matter. The police is also extending necessary cooperation to the investigating authorities in the countries that have shared pertinent information.
