Addressing the residents of the initial phase of Hulhumale’, yesterday Muizzu underscored that the development of Fushi Dhiggaru will be executed with a strategic focus on minimising the potential impact of climate change.

Emphasising the importance of elevating the island above existing dredged areas, he highlighted the incorporation of critical safety features into the project.

Expanding on the extensive land reclamation housing project, Muizzu shared key statistics, revealing plans to drain 1,280 hectares, a landmass equivalent to three times the combined area of the two existing phases of Hulhumale’.

Furthermore, Muizzu affirmed the commitment to implement housing projects in various parts of the country, aligning with previous assurances. However, specific details regarding these developments were not disclosed during the address.
