Fuvahmulah City Council Opens Bids for Harbour Area Land Plots for Tourism Development

The Fuvahmulah City Council has announced an invitation for bids on available land plots in the island’s harbour area, with the intention of supporting tourism development.

According to the council’s official statement, bid documents can be purchased for a fee of USD 100. These documents will be available until 1:00 pm on 11th September 2024.

Interested parties are required to email their company details, including name, contact number, and email address, to the council’s procurement unit at procurement@fuvahmulah.gov.mv to obtain the documents. Only those who purchase the documents by the specified deadline will be permitted to participate in the bidding process, with each entity limited to submitting a single bid.

An information session is scheduled to take place at the City Council’s meeting room at 11:00 am on 12th September, offering further details on the process. Bids will be submitted and publicly unsealed at 9:00 am on 17th September in the same venue.

Fuvahmulah, renowned for its appeal to diving enthusiasts, remains a significant tourist destination in the Maldives, with this latest initiative aimed at bolstering the island’s tourism infrastructure.
