Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has revealed plans to inaugurate a Creative Arts International School, aiming to bolster the country’s artistic landscape.
The initiative, announced yesterday, seeks a contractor to spearhead the establishment of the institution.
Outlined in the announcement are three core objectives for the school’s development. Firstly, it aims to foster an environment conducive to attracting individuals to pursue careers in the arts. Secondly, the school intends to offer comprehensive training and professional development programmes. Thirdly, it plans to set up integrated galleries and museums accessible to the public, thereby encouraging creative practitioners to showcase their work.
Accommodation provisions for students will be incorporated into the school’s infrastructure, with hostel facilities on-site.
The curriculum is slated to encompass a diverse range of courses spanning visual arts and crafts, audio-visual and interactive media, as well as technology and design. Furthermore, initiatives to promote creativity, including publications, knowledge dissemination, and avenues for creative expression, will be facilitated.
The Ministry has invited interested parties to express their interest in undertaking the project by emailing the ministry prior to June 30.
Moreover, the Ministry has indicated that proposals for establishing the school may entail eligibility for special privileges under the Special Economic Zone framework, following a thorough evaluation process.
