Minister Shafeeu conveyed his enthusiasm for the project, noting that students, parents, and teachers would welcome the development of a modern school facility.

He underscored the challenges faced by Arabiyya School in operating without a permanent structure for an extended period, which resulted in insufficient amenities for both students and educators. However, he reassured stakeholders that the new 10-storey building would be comprehensively equipped to meet their requirements.

Furthermore, Minister Shafeeu revealed plans for the new Arabiyya School building to introduce underground parking, setting a precedent in the Maldives’ educational infrastructure. He also committed to providing additional services to support the school community.

Addressing concerns over the previous inadequacies, Minister Shafeeu assured students and parents that the new facility would alleviate longstanding challenges. He emphasised the improved suitability and convenience of the current construction site compared to the previous location, expressing confidence that the new building would substantially enhance the learning environment for all involved parties.

Significantly, the initiation of the Arabiyya School’s new building aligns with a crucial milestone outlined in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s Week 14 Roadmap. The construction contract was awarded to Amin Construction Private Limited on September 29, 2022.
