Gov’t Celebrates International Museum Day at National Museum

The Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture, and Heritage has commemorated International Museum Day at the National Museum with a series of activities.

Under the theme “Museums for Education and Research,” this year’s International Museum Day aimed to promote learning and research opportunities within museum settings. In line with this, the National Museum of Maldives hosted a lecture titled “Chairs through the Ages” to mark the occasion.

It also shed light on the architectural and carpentry techniques prevalent in ancient Maldivian culture. The event took place at the National Museum, providing an informative platform for attendees.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister emphasised the importance of preserving heritage and integrating it into the fabric of society. 

They highlighted ongoing governmental efforts to ensure that heritage remains an integral part of people’s lives, fostering a deeper appreciation for cultural heritage and history.
