Gov’t Invites Expressions of Interest for New Hotel Developments in Hulhumalé

The government has announced the opening of Expressions of Interest (EOI) applications to develop three high-tier hotels in the Integrated Tourism Zone of Hulhumalé Phase 2.

According to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), these hotels are planned to feature state-of-the-art facilities and quality services aimed at enhancing the visitor experience. While HDC is encouraging applicants to adopt a lease model for these projects, other development models are also welcomed as part of the EOI submissions.

In the event of multiple applications for a single project, HDC will assess the proposals based on their completeness, the suggested development model, and the applicant’s experience in the sector.

Interested parties are required to submit their proposals via email to HDC before 14:00 hrs on 29th October 2024.

This EOI follows HDC’s recent initiative to invite applications for boutique hotel developments in the same area, further advancing Hulhumalé Phase 2 as a key tourism destination.
