According to the Ministry, this registry is expected to boost the number of locally produced goods. The primary objective is to compile data on individuals and businesses producing goods in the Maldives for income, to assist them in expanding their operations, identify products suitable for the local market and for export, and to help them find markets abroad.

Additionally, the Ministry highlighted the importance of identifying and addressing the challenges faced by these producers. This initiative aligns with the government’s policy to support local businesses and promote economic development.

For further information regarding the announcement, the Ministry has advised interested parties to contact its call centre at 1500.
