Gov’t to Reshuffle Cabinet Appointments

The Government of the Maldives has reshuffled the Cabinet of Ministers, according to media reports. The decision was made following a cabinet meeting held today.

Foreign Affairs Minister Moosa Zameer is set to be appointed as the new Minister of Finance.

Dr Abdulla Khaleel, the current Minister of Health, will take on the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, the Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy, is expected to be appointed as the new Minister of Health.

As of now, the government has yet to make an official announcement regarding these changes. It has also been reported that the current Minister of Finance, Dr Mohamed Shafeeq, has resigned from his position in the cabinet.
