Heat Index Exceeds 38°C in Parts of Maldives, Says Met Office

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has reported that the temperature felt in some parts of the country today has exceeded 38°C.
According to details released at 11:00 am, the actual temperature recorded in Hdh. Hanimaadhoo was 32.0°C, with a sensible temperature of 35.8°C. In Malé, the recorded temperature was 32.4°C, while the sensible temperature reached 37.1°C. L. Kadhdhoo experienced a recorded temperature of 32.4°C, but the sensible temperature peaked at 38.6°C—the highest among the reported locations.
Meanwhile, GDh. Kaadedhdhoo recorded a temperature of 31.8°C, with a sensible temperature of 35.7°C. In Seenu Atoll, the recorded temperature was 31.9°C, while the sensible temperature was 34.5°C.
The Met Office explained that the sensible temperature, or heat index, is determined by the average ratio of actual temperature to air humidity in a given area.
