Ilyas Labeeb Pledges to Boost Farmers’ Prices

Ilyas Labeeb, the presidential candidate of The Democrats, has announced his commitment to implementing a system aimed at bolstering the prices of agricultural products for farmers during a campaign event held in Thoddoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll.

Ilyas highlighted the challenges faced by farmers in the Maldives who utilise the islands with untapped agricultural potential. He emphasised that the cost of producing agricultural goods currently surpasses the revenue generated from their sale.

In response to this issue, Ilyas has made a pledge to introduce a system designed to enhance the value of farmers’ produce.

Additionally, Ilyas has committed to establishing a dedicated facility for farmers in Thoddoo. He expressed his intention to provide financial support to landowners on the island for development purposes. 

Furthermore, he has promised to conduct a comprehensive review of utility costs, including electricity and water bills.
