Immigration Detains Eight Illegal Migrants

Maldives Immigration said they detained eight illegal immigrants yesterday as part of their task force’s ongoing operations to trace migrants living in the Maldives outside of the regulations.
This search was conducted at the Social Center and Villimale’ Ferry Terminal area. Immigration officials did not disclose further details about the detainees, including their gender or nationality.

Last Sunday, the task force detained six migrants for working in the Maldives without valid visas as well.
