India Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties with the Maldives

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the Maldives, highlighting the friendship between the two nations.
This assurance came in response to a social media post by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who extended warm Republic Day greetings to India as the nation celebrated its 75th Republic Day.
In his post on X, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his gratitude to President Muizzu for the wishes and echoed the Maldivian leader’s sentiments about the enduring partnership between the two countries. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s dedication to deepening these ties of cooperation and friendship.
President Muizzu, in his message, highlighted the strong foundation of trust, respect, and understanding that characterises the relationship between India and the Maldives. He noted that this friendship has stood the test of time, further expressing his intention to enhance the strategic partnership. He emphasised mutual efforts to address shared challenges and promote the welfare of citizens in both nations.
