The Zakat Fund will also finance projects to spread the teachings of the Holy Quran and Huffaz. Additionally, the Minister noted that the Zakat Fund’s share allocated to the poor and needy is also being spent on medicines, kidney transplants, bone marrow treatments, and cancer and lung treatments.

According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, financial assistance would be provided to students who excel in Islamic studies at their own expense in countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Last year, the Zakat Fund received the highest amount of money in the form of Zakat, with over MVR 100 million collected through property Zakat.
