MACL Announces Internships for People with Disabilities

The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development have joined forces to introduce a special internship programme that provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the MACL head office yesterday. Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Lam’aan, representing MACL, and Minister of State Ahmed Athif, representing the Ministry of Social and Family Development, formalized the agreement in the presence of officials from both organizations.

During the signing ceremony, Lam’aan expressed MACL’s unwavering commitment to ensuring an enriching and supportive experience for the interns, stating, “We are dedicated to supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities through this programme.”

State Minister Athif echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the initiative’s importance: “People with disabilities are talented individuals who deserve meaningful inclusion in society. The President has given special attention to this cause, and this programme reflects our commitment to equality and empowerment.”

MACL reveals that the one-year agreement aims to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities and foster a culture of equality within society. Five individuals will gain work experience at MACL as part of the programme.
