At the meeting held in the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delegations reviewed the cooperation program and progress on key agreements reached by the two nations previously. Recalling previous discussions between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku last November, yesterday’s bilateral consultations were focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of investment promotion, education, culture, tourism, connectivity, fostering people-to-people exchanges, multilateral cooperation, as well as other important issues of mutual interest.

The two representatives discussed their continued commitment to maintaining close ties, cooperating on issues of mutual interest, and further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

During this trip to the Maldives, Deputy Minister Mammadov will meet stakeholders within the Maldivian government and explore investment opportunities. His delegation includes representatives of Azerbaijani agencies, such as the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO).
