The highlight of the evening was a drone show, featuring a synchronised display of drones that formed images celebrating Maldivian culture and landscapes. The festivities also included traditional performances such as “bodu beru” drumming and the Maldivian folk dance “dhafi negun.”

As the clock struck midnight, a fireworks display lit up the night sky, marking the start of 2025.

MMPRC described the event as an opportunity to highlight the country’s achievements over the past year while promoting its cultural heritage. This initiative aims to provide both locals and tourists with a memorable New Year’s experience, reinforcing the Maldives’ status as a top global destination.
