The Government of Maldives has strongly condemned Israel’s decision to establish an agency for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and its plans to legitimise 13 illegal settlement areas in the West Bank.

In a statement, the Maldivian government described these actions as a serious violation of international law and United Nations resolutions, particularly Security Council Resolution 2334. It emphasised that forced displacement and settlement expansion not only undermine peace efforts but also threaten the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.

The Maldives called on the international community to take urgent measures to protect civilians and work towards ending the ongoing violence in Gaza. The government reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, advocating for an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
