The Maldives has strongly condemned the bombing of Dar Al-Arqam School in Gaza, which was being used as a shelter for internally displaced persons.
The airstrike by Israeli forces resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians, including women and children, and left many others injured.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Maldives also denounced an Israeli airstrike on a medical warehouse operated by the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage in the Morag area of Rafah. The attack reportedly destroyed critical medical supplies intended for those wounded in the conflict. The Ministry described the strike as a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, the Maldives called on the international community to take urgent and decisive measures to end the ongoing violence against the Palestinian people and to ensure unhindered humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip.
The Maldives also reiterated its commitment to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
