The Maldives’ National Single Window platform, branded as Tradian, will be officially rolled out on 20 April.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to streamline international trade processes and enhance digital services for local businesses.

Tradian was developed under the guidance of President Dr Mohammed Muizzu, with the aim of providing a unified digital gateway for importers and exporters. The platform is designed to facilitate access to essential services from various government agencies through a single online portal, improving efficiency and simplifying procedures for businesses engaged in international trade.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has identified Tradian as a key element of President Muizzu’s economic agenda, specifically in improving support mechanisms for local enterprises. The project was undertaken in collaboration with Tradenet Maldives and involved extensive consultation with stakeholders in the economic sector and the wider business community. Although the platform was officially launched in September last year, the full suite of services is now being activated.

In line with a Cabinet decision made on 2 February, Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) will begin offering selected services through the Tradian platform starting from Sunday. These include foreign vessel registration, submission of vessel arrival information, and submission of sea cargo import manifests. MPL has confirmed that from 1 June, these services will be accessible exclusively through the Tradian platform.

The Maldives Customs Service has also announced that several of its services will be integrated with Tradian from 20 April. These include the registration of shipping agents, foreign-going vessels, and freight forwarders, as well as the submission of vessel arrival information and sea cargo manifests. However, Customs has clarified that those who do not register with Tradian by 1 June will still be able to submit cargo manifests and vessel arrival details through existing channels.

The implementation of Tradian is expected to significantly reduce administrative burdens for businesses, support greater transparency, and strengthen inter-agency coordination in trade-related matters.
