Maldivian Foreign Minister Concludes Official Visit to Saudi Arabia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, has concluded his official visit to Saudi Arabia, reaffirming the strong and longstanding ties between the two nations.
Undertaken at the invitation of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, the visit included high-level discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and exploring future areas of cooperation. Dr. Khaleel met with his Saudi counterpart and senior government officials, where he provided a comprehensive briefing on the Maldives’ economic priorities, including efforts to diversify the economy and ensure growth in key sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, and renewable energy.

During the visit, Dr. Khaleel also engaged with the Maldivian community in Riyadh and students in Medina, inquiring about their well-being. Additionally, he visited the Maldivian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah, highlighting the missions’ role in supporting Maldivians residing in or travelling to Saudi Arabia, particularly for Hajj and Umrah, while also working to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
