Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Managing Director Saleem highlighted the airline’s commitment to environmental protection. He noted that Maldivian regularly engages in activities aimed at preserving the environment, including initiatives to reduce the use of single-use plastics, with a long-term goal of eliminating plastics entirely.

Saleem further emphasised that the tree-planting initiative in Hulhumalé Phase 2 marks the beginning of a broader campaign, with plans to expand similar efforts nationwide. Staff members stationed across various regions are expected to contribute to this initiative.

The event underscores the importance of collaboration, with Maldivian working alongside the HDC to achieve shared environmental goals.
