Man Arrested After Fight with Brother on R. Maduvvari Island
A man was arrested following an altercation with his brother on R. Maduvvari island last Monday night.
The incident took place between two brothers who reside in the same household. According to a resident of the island, the suspect had a history of violence and had previously been convicted and imprisoned before being released.

The victim is reported to be in stable condition, according to an island spokesperson.
The arrested individual has been identified as Ismail Asif, who was jailed in 2019 for stabbing a man on a boat. He had been serving a 10-year sentence before his release.
Police confirmed that they received the report of the incident at 11:28 pm and that a 35-year-old man has been taken into custody. An investigation is ongoing.
