Mental Health Helpline Receives Over 3,000 Calls in First Year

The mental health helpline 1677, operational around the clock, has attended to 3,004 calls over the past year, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry of Health, in a social media update, highlighted the service’s impact since its establishment on 21 February 2024.

Designed to offer mental health first aid, the helpline provides support and guidance to individuals facing a range of psychological challenges. It aims to help callers navigate life’s difficulties while promoting overall mental wellbeing.
In addition to offering immediate assistance, the helpline provides a safe space for people of all ages to share their thoughts and concerns. When necessary, callers are referred for further treatment to ensure comprehensive care.
