MET Office Confirms No Threat to Maldives from Recent Carlsberg Ridge Earthquake

In a recent seismic event reported by the Maldives Meteorology Service (MMS), an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck the Carlsberg Ridge at 16:46 hours yesterday. The MMS, in an official statement, emphasised that despite the significant magnitude, there is no discernible threat to the Maldives.

The epicenter of the earthquake was pinpointed to be 894 kilometers away from Addu City. The MMS assures the public that, based on their assessments, there is no imminent danger or impact on the Maldives due to this seismic activity.
