Met Office Extends White Alert to Central Maldives

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued white alerts for the region spanning from Kaafu Atoll to Thaa Atoll.
These alerts are in effect from 1400 hours to 1830 hours today.

The forecasts warns of heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusts wind reaching 35mph for the region between Kaafu and Thaa Atolls.
Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.
MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:
- White alert: Alert Level 1
- Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
- Orange warning: Alert Level 3
- Red warning: Alert Level 4
