MET Office Issues White Alert for Entire Country

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has issued a white alert for the entire country, effective until 1:30 pm today.

Anticipating heavy rain and thunderstorms persisting across the nation until 1:30 pm, the Meteorological Service has highlighted winds reaching speeds of 40 mph within the cloud formations.

Residents and visitors in the affected areas are advised by the MMS to remain vigilant and implement appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

• White alert: Alert Level 1
• Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
• Orange warning: Alert Level 3
• Red warning: Alert Level 4
