MFDA Bans Domperidone Amidst Chemical Contamination Concerns
The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has issued a prohibition on the sale and usage of Emidone Suspension 1mg/1ml (Domperidone), effective from today.

This move comes in response to the potential presence of chemicals, specifically diethylene glycol (DEG) and ethylene glycol (EG), in the medication.
The authority strongly advises both purchasers and vendors of pharmaceuticals to exercise heightened vigilance.
MFDA has also issued a directive to those engaged in the sale of the drug within the Maldives, urging them to appropriately dispose of the product in strict adherence to established guidelines.
