The MNDF’s Fire and Rescue Service has been leading the efforts to manage the flooding. Sixteen pumps have been strategically placed in various areas of Malé City to address the situation.
These include five pumps at West Park, five at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) area, three at the Salman Mosque area, one at the Bodu Valhu area, one at the Maafannu Ferry Terminal, and one at the Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu area.

In addition to pumping water, the MNDF is working alongside the Malé City Council to place sandbags in flood-prone areas to prevent further damage.
Flooding has also affected several islands, causing significant damage due to the combination of heavy rainfall and swell waves. The MNDF has been actively assisting in these locations, including K. Maafushi, K. Guraidhoo, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, Dh. Meedhoo, ADh. Maamigili, Sh. Narudhoo, and F. Nilandhoo, to reduce the impact on residents and provide support.
