MNDF Initiates Survey to Assess Damages from Flooding

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has initiated a survey aimed at identifying and evaluating the damages caused by heavy rains in the Male’ city on December 31.
Conducted by the MNDF Male’ Area Command, the survey focuses on identifying affected houses, mapping their locations, and proposing immediate measures to mitigate potential future flood damage. The survey is scheduled to continue until January 8.
Concurrently, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is actively involved in assessing the impact of the rains. According to the agency, a total of 164 houses have been reported as damaged due to flooding.
In response to the situation, the government has taken prompt action by providing temporary shelter to 46 individuals from 11 households affected by the heavy rains and floods in the city on December 31.
