MNDF Search for Missing Addu Teen Despite Weather Challenges

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) is persevering in its efforts to locate 18-year-old Mohamed Naeesh Nasr from Addu City, who went missing at sea on Thursday night.
Despite facing setbacks caused by adverse weather conditions, the MNDF remains committed to the search and rescue operation.

Naeesh was reported missing to authorities at 10:45 pm on Thursday, triggering an immediate response from the MNDF. The challenging weather conditions in the Maldives, characterised by low visibility, have complicated the search efforts.
As of the latest updates provided by the MNDF on Friday night, the Coast Guard Fourth Squadron has covered 23.46 square nautical miles by air and 490 square nautical miles by sea.
Additionally, three fishing boats from Maradhoo, Naeesh’s home district, have joined the operation, and an aircraft from Maldivian’s Aviation Academy has been mobilised for assistance.
