MP Eva Abdulla Calls for Solidarity with Palestinian Women on International Women’s Day

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Eva Abdulla, MP for Galolhu North, has advocated for the rights and protection of Palestinian women, highlighting the need for global attention and action.

Asserting that Palestinian women deserve the same fundamental rights as women worldwide, Eva emphasized that they are entitled to life, safety, health, and dignity, echoing the principles upheld for women in other nations. She vehemently condemned the inhuman crimes perpetrated against Palestinian women and girls, stressing that they should not be subjected to such injustices.

Addressing the pressing issue of Israeli attacks in Palestine, Abdullah condemned them as crimes against humanity and flagrant violations of international law. She called for accountability for these egregious acts, urging the international community to take decisive action to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.

In her statement dedicated to Palestinian women and girls, Eva underscored their right to protection from violence and degrading treatment, including sexual violence, under international humanitarian law. She urged solidarity in advocating for their rights, stressing that standing up for women’s rights globally necessitates standing up for the rights and safety of Palestinian women and girls.

Highlighting the importance of utilising occasions like International Women’s Day to raise awareness of the plight of Palestinians, Eva urged concerted efforts to address the ongoing crisis. She called upon the international community to intensify its efforts to bring an end to the suffering of Palestinians, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women marked on March 8th each year.
