MTCC Advances on K. Maafushi Harbour Development Project

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) made progress with the K. Maafushi Harbour Development Project, as of the latest reports, the installation of concrete blocks integral for the quay wall’s construction has reached 74% completion.

Concurrently, the concrete works for the quay wall are also in progress.

The extensive project comprises:

• Dredging of a new 63,711cbm harbour basin
• Maintenance dredging operations covering 28,836cbm
• Channel dredging operations involving 4,414cbm
• Construction of a 31m breakwater
• A 680m rock boulder revetment
• A 700m geo bag revetment
• A 374m quay wall
• A concrete jetty and a bridge

Additionally, the installation of 1,869sqm harbour pavement and harbour lights are part of the development scope.

This project is valued at MVR 76.48 million.
