MTCC Signs with Planning Ministry for Development Projects in 3 Islands

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure for harbour development projects in Lh. Olhuvelifushi, Lh. Kurendhoo and a Channel Breakwater Upgrade Project in HA. Utheemu.
The Chief Operating Officer Shahid Hussain Moosa represented MTCC, while Ms Fathimath Shaana Farooq, Director General, signed on behalf of the Ministry. The signing ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Abdul Ghani Abdul Hakeem.
The Lh. Olhuvelifushi Harbor Development Project includes 7534cbm maintenance dredging operations, 49,857 cubic metres of new harbour basin dredging operations, 14,160 cubic metres channel dredging operations, 164m revetment, 172m breakwater, 156m sand-filled breakwater outer revetment, 156m sand-filled breakwater inner revetment, 246m quay wall, 11m x 11m ramp, 27m x 5m bridge, 132m x 2m jetty, 1149sqm pavement, navigational and harbour lights. The expected project completion timeline is set at 450 days. The project is valued at MVR 66.40 million
The Lh. Kurendhoo Harbour Development Project includes 36,363 cubic metres of maintenance dredging operations, the construction of a 63-metre revetment, a 415-metre breakwater, and two reinforced concrete jetties measuring 243 metres by 2 metres and 60 metres by 2 metres, respectively.
The total estimated value of the Project stands at MVR 53.36 million.
The HA. Utheemu Channel Breakwater Upgrade Project involves conducting 8,400 cubic metres of channel dredging operations and constructing a 50-metre breakwater.
The project is valued at MVR 5.74 million.
