Muizzu and First Lady Depart on an Official Visit to Türkiye

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, initiated an official visit to the Republic of Türkiye today in response to an invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

During the diplomatic mission, Muizzu is scheduled to engage with senior government officials of Türkiye to explore potential areas for mutual collaboration, with the aim of strengthening diplomatic ties between the Maldives and Türkiye.

A high-level delegation is accompanying the President and the First Lady to facilitate discussions and engagements during the visit.

Muizzu will return to the Maldives following his participation in the United Nations Climate Change Conference- COP 28, scheduled to convene in the United Arab Emirates on November 30, 2023. 

This official visit emphasises the ongoing commitment to diplomatic relations and collaboration between the Maldives and Türkiye, further solidifying international ties.
