In a video message announcing the initiative, Muizzu stated that the Masterplan is expected to be finalised within a year. He emphasised the importance of broad participation, inviting input from all segments of society, including political parties, civil society groups, experts, and stakeholders.

“The Masterplan will be supported by dedicated legislation,” Muizzu confirmed.

He stressed that the initiative aims to shape the nation’s development in line with the aspirations of the Maldivian people over the next two decades.

As part of the process, Muizzu highlighted that discussions on the Masterplan would be held across all islands, ensuring that public input plays a key role in shaping the strategy.

“This is a collective effort that is starting now. With everyone’s participation, we will secure a prosperous future for our children,” he added.
