Nasheed Expresses Support for Enhanced Maldives-India Relations
Former President Mohamed Nasheed has expressed his satisfaction regarding the strengthening ties between the Maldives and India.
His comments come as current President Dr Mohamed Muizzu embarks on an official state visit to India, following an invitation from the Indian President.

In a post on the social media platform X, Nasheed noted that “India and Maldives are natural partners with so much in common,” and he added that he is “happy to see things fall into place and the relationship fixed.”
During his visit, Muizzu held his first meeting with India’s Minister of External Affairs, Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, yesterday. Today, he is set to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
